Flavio joins Diocesan Schools' Service team

The Diocese of East Anglia Schools' Service has welcomed new Deputy Director Flavio Vettese who brings over 25 years of educational experience.


Flavio started his educational journey working in post-16 further and higher education where he held a senior position over a broad range of areas including A levels, humanities, visual and performing arts, media and languages. He further developed links between schools and vocational education and went on to be Director for Educational Partnerships between schools and colleges.

He was a founding director of an educational engineering centre which specialised in high quality experiential learning opportunities directly linked with industry and offers training for primary age learners through to GCSE, post-16 and disadvantaged learners as well as training for industry.

He later went on to join the Local Education Authority where he worked as a Senior Adviser working to develop the LA’s relationship with the full range of educational providers from 4 to 19. He helped to develop leadership and management structures across a range of schools and collegesand has been instrumental in establishing numerous partnerships, federations, academies and MATs.

He has recently led the work on Academisation in Norfolk and has established excellent links with theDfE and the Regional Schools Commissioner. Flavio was also the Norfolk lead for International Education Links, and has led numerous educational exchanges with China, France, the Netherlands and Norway.

He said: "I feel both privileged and thrilled to be taking up this significant position within the Diocese. As well as achieving excellent academic results, our schools nurture and nourish our children in an open, warm and spiritual environment.

"The educational landscape has recently seen some immense changes and challenges in the way it is structured and indeed its accountability. I am relishing the opportunity to work with our colleagues from across the Diocese to ensure we continue to deliver outstanding education for all of our children."
