Parish’s mini-pilgrimages to two of St Walstan’s wells

Parishioners of Our Lady & St Walstan parish in Costessey visited the second of three local wells associated with St Walstan on Sunday May 13.
The first, at Taverham, has been long lost. The second (pictured above) is on the grounds of Costessey Golf Club and this was the second year that, with the kind permission of the Club, a mini-pilgrimage took place.
On Sunday May 27 several members of the parish will walk to the third well, at Bawburgh, on a long-established pilgrimage. Those unable to walk the four miles will meet the walkers at the well for a short service and a picnic.
