The school will be the first state-funded Catholic school in England for more than 10 years and will be run by the Diocese of East Anglia.
When full, the school will have 630 pupils and will be located at Aqua Drive, Hampton Water, Peterborough. Initially it will open to reception, year 1 and year 2 pupils.
Architect’s drawings show what the school will look like and construction on site is due to begin in July 2021.
The Diocese is consulting until February, 19, 2021 on the proposed admission arrangements. The details of these arrangements are set out in the policy below.

Meanwhile, plans for building St John Henry Newman School are going ahead as expected. A planning application will soon be submitted to the City Council and further information about this can be found at https://dppukltd.com/st-johnhenrynewman/. It is anticipated that building work will start in the summer 2021 with the school opening in September 2022. In the meantime any new information or progress on the new school will be posted on its website at https://st-johnhenrynewman.org.uk/.
