Diocesan Walsingham pilgrimage will be a virtual one

The Diocese of East Anglia will be celebrating a virtual pilgrimage to the Catholic National Shrine at Walsingham on Monday May 3, after the usual in-person pilgrimage was cancelled due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Bishop Alan Hopes will be celebrating a 12 noon Mass at the Chapel of Reconciliation and a Rosary and Benediction at 2.30pm.

The Mass will be shown on live stream on the Shrine’s website and YouTube channel and will celebrate the Year of St Joseph and the Family

A smaller social-distanced congregation is able to attend but must book a seat online beforehand here. Please do not attend until you have done this and had it confirmed.

If you would like to request a Mass intention, light a candle, or make a pilgrim offering, please visit www.walsingham.org.uk.

Because of on-going Covid-19 restrictions, the annual diocesan Children’s Pilgrimage, which was due to take place on June 1, has also been cancelled, as has the Altar Servers Mass and BBQ on Saturday May 8, at St John’s Cathedral, Norwich.
