St John’s Cathedral recently held a thank-you event for some of its many volunteers. More than 60 parishioners enjoyed lunch in the Narthex and were thanked by Canon David Paul for their great contribution to parish life.
Just some of the jobs done are cleaning the cathedral, arranging flowers, stewarding at Mass and working in the shop. More than 1 in 10 of regular Mass-goers volunteers in some way in the parish, a figure which is the envy of many other cathedrals across the country.
