Final Masses to give thanks for Mgr John Armitage

Bishop Alan Hopes will be celebrating a Mass on Saturday to give thanks for the work of Mgr John Armitage as Rector of the National Shrine in Walsingham.


Mgr John Armitage will be completing his role as Rector at the end of August. He is moving to a new appointment in Brentwood Diocese.

A thanksgiving Mass for Mgr John will be held at the Shrine at 12 noon on Saturday August 29, led by Bishop Alan Hopes.

Mgr John’s final Mass at the Shrine in his capacity as Rector will be at midday on Sunday August 30.

Mgr Philip Moger, the next Rector of the Shrine, will celebrate his first Mass on Thursday  September 17 at noon.  He will be formally inducted as Rector of the Shrine by Bishop Alan Hopes on Thursday September 2020 24 at noon, the Feast of Our Lady of Walsingham.
