There was a crowded church to welcome Bishop Alan when he visited Gorleston to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Gill’s Church of St Peter the Apostle on June 12, reports Bill Howell.
After a celebration Mass the festivities continued in the Parish Hall, where parishioners had provided a feast for all to share.
Around the walls of the hall were displays with colourful pictures to remind everyone of the parish history. They included past Parish Priests, First Communions, Bishops, Confirmations, as well as details of the current building’s problems behind the application for Lottery funding for remedial work.
